… after living in one place for 18 years I moved, is my response .. and I NEVER want to move again (!!)
I’ve been in various states of panic and joy these past 2 weeks .. obviously to now be in ones own home is a great accomplishment and the family and I could not be happier , but boy did i not realize just how much stuff ( junk ) I had .. well i suppose those looking in would not be surprised, considering I’ve proclaimed having the largest Ultraman collection outside of Japan ;-P … but when the folks at Pat Ryan Moving came by for an estimate it went from one estimate over the phone to double that in person ( ha-ha )… 6 men and two trucks … to keep this part short, these guys were AWESOME, and believe me carried up to 4-5 boxes at a time all filled with books (!) my back ached just watching them go down our long stair case … as they moved we still had not finished packing.. and that included my Ultraman room…
when all was done, both trucks were filled – over 300 boxes, 1800+ feet of bubble wrap ! A move that took over 8 hours from start to finish, and these guys never took a break (!!)
I’ve spent ( and continue to spend ) each day sorting out toys to display, toys to store and yes, toys to eBay or donate… I see the light at the end of the tunnel and the room is slowly taken shape .. those who saw the old room will now have room to walk around the display cases ( at least for now ! ).
Our two car garage at best will be a one car garage … with the rest taken up by Max Toy stock and yes more toys in storage !
I won’t even go into the fact that this past Sunday we spent another 5 hours moving the rest fo the stuff we could not.. and if thats not bad enough still have 2 more car fulls of toys to bring over (!!)
So updates here and on my various sites will be slow at least until after Toy Karma in Chicago, September 5th … after that I have a tiny breather, to catch up with various projects and prepare for the December Kaiju Invade San Francisco show at Double Punch – San Francisco.
More pics as the room takes shape … I’m still here, just buried under a mountain of toys !
